On Saturday May 22, 2010 La Voz de Indiana in partnership with the Mayor’s Office and the sponsorship of dozens of major corporations, will celebrate their 5th Annual Mother’s Day event, giving presents and prizes in a festive atmosphere, entertained by music and games for everyone.

The event will be held at Golc Park located at the corner of West Washington Street & Warman.  Also available will be snacks, drinks and desserts served free of charge to all attendees. Our proud Partners WEDJ & La Joya, will be on site all day to play music and join in the festivities.  There will be clowns, mariachis, make-up artists, local IPD & Fire Department who will entertain and offer their services to the community. 

As in previous years, La Voz de Indiana organized the event as part of its social activities calendar for the fast growing Latino community.  We have taken into account how valuable a Mother’s work is and acknowledge the contribution made to our society by their efforts. Some struggle to help their children get ahead in spite of the adversity they face from day to day when coming to a new country and adapting to its rules, regulations, culture and even language. It is for this reason that we appreciate and give thanks to all the Mothers. 
In 2009, more than 3,000 mothers participated. Over half of them received some kind of prize such as a flat screen TV set, a Full Bedroom suite, Round trip tickets/air fare (just to name a few)  in raffles that were carried out every 30 minute intervals. This year’s event will be even larger, with an expected crowd of 4,000+.  Remember, this is a great opportunity for your company/corporation to get to know our community face to face and offer them services, information or any type of literature that will enable our community to understand who you are and what you have to offer.
